Technology hasn’t only transformed our way of living, but it has infiltrated every aspect of our everyday. So it was only a matter of time before weddings followed suit. Now, ceremonies have been caught up in the digital nest, and brides and grooms are choosing to upgrade the old traditions and walk down the online aisle.
#TAGTHATMOMENT
Oh, but what would a ceremony or a reception look like without an accurate hashtag to back it up? According to a study conducted by Mashable, 55% of brides use a wedding hashtag and 20% ask their guests to share it online. It’s not at all surprising that nearly 70% of couples wish to see their wedding photos posted online in real-time. For example, the UK’s first official social media wedding took place in June 2016, when the bride and groom used #ZoeAndWill2016 hashtag to broadcast their special day every 15 minutes. The Instagram snaps generated 3,500 likes and the tweets were seen more than 18,000 times on the big day.
#LIVESTREAMING
Technology takes care of everybody. When it comes to our wedding, we want everyone to walk on air and dance the night away. That’s why, live streaming weddings allow couples to offer everyone the gift of being there, and they also give beloved ones who can’t join the party the chance to witness the exchange of vows via a webcam.
At the moment, the US, followed by India, England, Australia and Canada are the most popular countries to host a live stream wedding, with over 20,000 wedding broadcasts each year.
The future is here!
