Summer has well and truly arrived! July was the hottest month on record this year as well as having the hottest day. With temperatures set to soar again, it is safe to say that the outdoors have never looked so appealing. Here we give you our summer guide to get out exploring and enjoying the outside this summer at Elite.
Outdoor Sports
With spectacular grounds, our properties lend themselves to an array of outdoor activities. Whilst we can organise special sporting options for any occasion we also have a selection of options already available on property.
Golf
You do not need to be a golf pro to have a go on one of our Golf Courses at Ashdown Park or Luton Hoo. In fact at Luton Hoo, Craig Ferris is on hand to offer one to one tuition to all levels from absolute beginners to regular pros.
If you wish to just be left to your own devices there are practice greens, driving ranges and putting greens before you tackle the 18 hole golf course. If you are visiting Ashdown Park to play, you will enjoy one of the most scenic, challenging 18 hole golf courses in East Sussex. The last 9 holes are particularly attractive as they meander and wind their way through undulating woodland, which also makes it a very enjoyable Sussex golf course to play.

Swimming
If a round of golf does not take your fancy there are a range of other outdoor sports to enjoy. An early morning swim can be especially lovely in the summer months in one of our indoor or outdoor pools. Equally lazing by the pool, drink by your side can be a relaxing way to enjoy the sunshine.
Swimming can be enjoyed by all the family with special swim times for little ones and some quieter, relaxing swimming times available. While outdoor swimming is available at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne and Tylney Hall Hotel & Gardens, all four properties have an inside swimming pool should you prefer to stay in the shade.

Tennis & Other Sports
Practice your serve on one of our Tennis courts this summer or for a slightly less vigorous sport enjoy a spot of croquet on the lawns or we have a small putting green by the sea at The Grand Hotel, Eastbourne.
Walking and Running Trails
At Elite we have a combined total of 1,317 acres of countryside to explore, across all of our properties. During the summer months all the wildlife comes out to play and you have more time to explore the hidden gems around the estates. Search for the hidden garden at Ashdown Park, look out for coy in Tylney's Water Garden or explore the formal gardens of Luton Hoo. Our estates are looked after all year long by our hard working Estates teams, who love nothing more than seeing guests exploring and enjoying their hard work!
For those staying at The Grand, the beautiful seaside scenery can also be explored, we are on the promenade and on a sunny day there can be nothing better than taking a stroll along the promenade and exploring what Eastbourne has to offer.
We also have a variety of short and long walks, mild and more difficult running trails for guests to enjoy. Simply ask one of our concierge team to supply you with a walking or running trail map.
Dining Al Fresco
Throughout the summer, warmer evenings lend themselves perfectly to dining outside, where you can partake in an alfresco dinner whilst admiring the stunning views of the grounds or beach view. Enjoy lunch or dinner out on our terrace, order a cup of tea, coffee or even a cocktail in the sun and sit back and relax. There is also the option at Ashdown Park to enjoy an afternoon tea or picnic on the lawns, perfect for a lazy summers afternoon.
Outdoor Events
Across all four Elite properties are an array of summertime events. With weekly BBQ's (weather dependent), classic movies being shown in the gorgeous surrounding of Luton Hoo as well as Garden Open Days there is fun for all the family.
